Emilia Clarke in tears as brother retrieves best Daenerys Targaryen gift from Game of Thrones set

Sorry, this video isn't available any more.

Emilia Clarke has revealed her brother managed to pinch her the best present from the Game of Thrones set after she failed to retrieve anything when the cameras stopped rolling.

Game of Thrones finished in 2019 with its cast managing grab a few mementos along the way. Kit Harington recently admitted he took a giant stone Jon Snow statue while Emilia complained she couldn’t even get hold of one of Dany’s signature white wigs.

Well, the 33-year-old finally has a piece of the Mother of Dragons at home, thanks to her brother who worked as a cameraman on the fantasy epic.

The star joined Zoe Ball for her BBC Radio 2 show this morning where she moaned: ‘I was a frustratingly good girl – I abided by the rules!’

Thankfully, her brother swooped in to find the perfect keepsake.

‘My amazing brother, who worked on the camera department and worked on the show as well, this Christmas gave me the best Christmas present ever,’ she continued. ‘In one of the battle scenes he got a mate of a mate – he got one of the Targaryen flags.

‘I opened it this Christmas and burst into tears!’

While it may sound handy having a sibling on the Game of Thrones set, remember Emilia was quite often naked for Dany’s incestuous sex scenes.

The actress recently admitted there would be days when the last person on earth you need to be working with is your brother.

‘So there are some days where he’s like, “Oh, I’ll swing by,” because he’s literally in the next unit that’s filming next door,” she laughed on Jimmy Kimmel Live!.

‘And I’m like, “Nah, it’s good! I’m good! You can stay there!”’

Game of Thrones seasons one to eight are available on NOW TV. Zoe Ball’s BBC Radio 2 Show airs weekdays from 6.30am.

Emilia Clarke admits her ‘brain and soul’ needed Game of Thrones break as she prepares for theatre debut

Emilia Clarke is preparing to make her big theatre debut this month following the end of Game of Thrones and admits her ‘brain and soul’ needed a break from the hit show.

The 33-year-old actress played Daenerys Targaryen in HBO’s fantasy series for eight seasons and said farewell to the iconic character when GoT ended last summer.

With a new horizon of opportunities, Emilia has set her sights on theatre and will star in West End play The Seagull later in March.

And it couldn’t have come at a better time as the actress was more than ready to rest the Mother of Dragons.

‘It’s been really nice. I think my brain and my soul probably needed a bit of a break from it because it just kept going and getting bigger, and bigger and bigger,’ Emilia told Zoe Ball on her BBC Radio 2 breakfast show on Tuesday.

‘I could never quite see what it was because we were in it. I always used to say that it was like we all just got in this bunker for 10 years and then came out and was like, “Where are we? What’s happened?”

‘So it feels very freeing to be free literally from the show. That being said, Daenerys is very much a part of me.’

Emilia went on to recall recent advice from a producer, who said that ‘an actor is the character’s best lawyer’, which resonated with the actress as she would constantly defend Daenerys’ controversial character development in later episodes.

‘For everything that happened, I was literally like, “But here’s why, this is what my girl [means]…”,’ she admitted.

Although she’s enjoying the new acting gigs, Emilia is still holding onto a piece of Daenerys thanks to a very thoughtful present from her brother.

‘I was such a frustratingly good girl, I didn’t [take any props from set]. I abided by the rules,’ Emilia revealed.

‘However – I’m just going to say this live on radio – my amazing brother, who worked on the show as well, this Christmas gave me the best Christmas present ever. In one of the battle scenes I think, he got one of the Targaryen flags, so I opened it this Christmas and just burst into tears.’

Her bro’s definitely earned brownie points there.

She added: ‘So that’s going to take pride of place. I kept asking the Thrones lot, please can I have a wig? A coat?’

The Seagull will see Emilia tread the boards at London’s Playhouse Theatre alongside Tamzin Outhwaite, Sophie Wu, Robert Glennister and other Game of Thrones alumni including Indira Varma, Tom Rhys and Daniel Monks.

It’s set in a remote country house and centres on a group of characters as they clash over art and love.

Sharing her anticipation for the show, Emilia said: ‘I’m really happy in the theatre and I’m over the moon giddy with joy – Christmas, birthdays all at once in a rehearsal process.’

She added of her co-stars: ‘I love them all, every name I’ve got a bigger smile, I just love them all so much and we’re getting so into it in this meaty tense play where everything is just tension cut with a knife and then we break, and we’re all just having a cup of tea and trying not to laugh.’

Game of Thrones fan think this theory could have saved Daenerys Targaryen from season 8 Mad Queen twist

Daenerys Targaryen Game of Thrones
What if Daenerys had been told the truth? (Picture: HBO)

Game of Thrones fans think they’ve found a massive plot hole which could have meant salvation for Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke).

As we all know, the show’s eighth and final season ended with Dany gaining the Iron Throne by basically committing genocide by destroying King’s Landing on Drogon after becoming increasingly isolated from her supporters.

The show ended with the Dragon Queen getting killed by her lover, and also cousin, Jon Snow (Kit Harington) but fans on Reddit (where else) are sure that if one piece of information was shared to her by the eunuch Varys (Conleth Hill) concerning Jon’s surrogate father Ned Stark (Sean Bean), it all could have turned out a lot differently.

Redditor DJTff wrote: ‘Why didn’t Varys or Tyrion tell Khaleesi that Jon Snow’s father Ned Stark was the only one who was opposed to killing her and her baby?

‘Seems like a relevant detail they left out when trying to convince her to trust Jon and listen to what he was saying, no?’

And reading it – it totally makes sense. Much of Dany’s paranoia in the last season stemmed from the realisation that most of her allies were slowly beginning to turn against her, and viewed her as an invader.

Tyrion (Peter Dinklage) even worried that she would, like her father before her, go mad…which of course she did, after being pushed to the brink by Cersei (Lena Headey).

Game Of Thrones
Would it have made it easier for Dany to trust Jon? (Picture: HBO)

Viewers who were with the show from the very beginning will remember that Ned did actually save Dany’s life – he refused to obey King Robert Baratheon (Mark Ady) and have the fledgling queen and her brother Viserys (Harry Lloyd) assassinated, on the basis that she was just a child.

If Dany had been told that Jon’s father (well, not his real one – that was her brother Rhaegar) was one of her defenders, if probably would have made it much easier for her to trust her beloved.

And then maybe season eight would have had a much different ending – although we wouldn’t have gotten her brilliant Rivers of Blood-esque speech.

It’s no secret that Thrones’ final run of episodes didn’t have the warmest reception from fans or critics, so it’s also no surprise that a lot of intricate fan theories have popped up since the show ended.

For instance, there’s the one where Theon Greyjoy (Alfie Allen) should have actually killed Bran and Rickon Stark.

Mind you, if you’re holding out hope that the cast filmed an alternative ending for the season we have bad news for you – Maisie Williams herself told us they hadn’t.

Game of Thrones is available to stream via NOW TV.

Game of Throne star Emilia Clarke has opened up on the HBO epic, and how she was left annoyed by Jon Snow’s ending.

Cast your minds back to season nine, which saw her character Daenerys Targaryen transform into a mad queen and strike down King’s Landing, killing thousands of innocent people.

The twist of events came as a huge shock to fans, which ultimately ended in the Mother of Dragon’s death, seeing Jon Snow (Kit Harington) plunge a knife into her chest.

He was then faced with being executed for the murder, however, the new ruler of the seven kingdoms Bran Stark took pity on his half brother and ended up saving his life by sentencing him to the Night’s Watch.

And it seems Emilia still holds a grudge for her character’s lover not getting the punishment he deserved.

When chatting with The Times, the 33-year-old said of Daenerys: ‘Yeah, I felt for her. I really felt for her.’

She then turned her attention to Jon Snow’s ending, adding: ‘And yeah, was I annoyed that Jon Snow didn’t have to deal with something? He got away with murder – literally.’

The actress recently spoke about life after Game of Thrones, and how she now feels free to further explore her career.

‘It’s been really nice. I think my brain and my soul probably needed a bit of a break from it because it just kept going and getting bigger, and bigger and bigger,’ she told Zoe Ball on her BBC Radio 2 breakfast show on Tuesday.

Performances of Emilia Clarke’s play The Seagull have been suspended as London theatres shut their doors in a bid to help slow the spread of coronavirus.

Following advice from Prime Minister Boris Johnson about mass gatherings, the West End has decided to postpone their performances.

The Game Of Thrones star made her West End debut in the play on 11 March, with performances scheduled to run until 30 May.

As theatre-goers arrived at the venue, a sign on the doors of The Playhouse read: ‘Due to the ongoing public health crisis with COVID-19, Today’s performance of The Seagull at the Playhouse Theatre has been cancelled. Please contact your point of sale from 10am tomorrow to enquire about refunds and exchanges, none will be issued at this time.

‘We thank you for your support and understanding at this challenging time. Playhouse Theatre Management.’

A statement on the official Twitter page announced that no further performances will take place for the foreseeable future.

The message from Mark Cornell, Group CEO at Ambassador Theatre Group read: ‘We understand that this decision comes as a disappointment, and a massive inconvenience for those of you already on the way to a venue this evening, but ultimately we all want the same thing: the health and safety of our communities, and we believe this is the correct decision to make.’

He added that they are ‘consulting with industry bodies’ as to what will happen ‘in the immediate future’.

Game of Thrones alternative ending: Sophie Turner would have loved Sansa Stark and Daenerys Targaryen twist

Game of Thrones ended with a whimper after a decade of bloodbaths that punched you in the gut, with its biggest disappointment perhaps being the downfall of Daenerys Targaryen.

After gradually spiralling to become the ‘Mad Queen’, Dany (played by Emilia Clarke) was murdered by Jon Snow (Kit Harington) who was subsequently banished to The Wall while his brother Bran (Isaac Hempstead-Wright) became ruler of the now Six Kingdoms as his sister Sansa (Sophie Turner) was named Queen of The North.

Alas, fans were so angry with the outcome a petition to have season eight rewritten amassed almost two million signatures.

While Sophie has defended the finale to the bitter end, during a Q&A on her Instagram this week, the 24-year-old – who is expecting her first child with Joe Jonas – was all for Sansa and Daenerys teaming up in an alternative ending which we would have loved to see, to be honest.

When one fan asked: ‘Do you wish Dany & Sansa would’ve been a bad bitch power duo?’, the star replied: ‘That would have been awesome!’

It would have been totally awesome, but we’ll never see it, so…

Sophie’s co-star Emilia recently admitted she was slightly ‘annoyed’ by her end game, or more specifically Jon’s who got away relatively scot-free for murdering the Mother of Dragons.

‘I felt for her. I really felt for her,’ she told The Times.

‘And yeah, was I annoyed that Jon Snow didn’t have to deal with something? He got away with murder – literally.’

Emilia Clarke is out here giving us all the dog content we need during lockdown.

Yep, if you need a little something to brighten up your day while stuck in quarantine, then feast your eyes on Emilia’s latest Instagram upload because it’s nothing short of adorable.

The Game Of Thrones star, 33, shared a series of snaps of herself bonding with her new puppy, named Ted, and we’re officially jealous of all the doggo love.

Alongside her pooch-filled selfies, Emilia joked: ‘The 3 stages of Ted’s love language. Licking is introduced at a distance.

‘Zero understanding of human kiss. Screw it gimme your face #sleepeatrepeat.’

Anyone else wishing they had a Ted for company right about now?

When she manages to tear herself away from cute lil Ted, Emilia has been doing what she can to help out with coronavirus relief efforts and even auctioned herself off as a dinner date.

She hosted a virtual dinner party for 12 fans, who donated to the Covid-19 fund of her charity SameYou, which helps patients recovering from brain injuries and strokes get the help they need at home in order to free up hospital beds.

She is hoping to raise £250,000 in total for her charity’s coronavirus fund and so far has £70,500 in donations in just a matter of weeks.

Sharing how her virtual dinner went on Instagram, Emilia joked: ‘Mid-“my batter looks like its thrown up on itself, how about yours?!” Chat… THIS is how I throw a cook-along party, (in Covid time that IS a thing I swear) full of mess and big arm gestures in lieu of actual cooking knowledge.’

She continued: ‘Ted @gommie_poem and I were joined in my messy kitchen by 12 beautiful souls as we all made and ate…pancakes! (a soufflé seemed a bridge too far).

‘Quote of the meal “mine look like chicken fillets” (to be fair I found a recipe that didn’t need flour so things got a little… DENSE. 😋)

‘This roaring good time we all had was a thank you for the incredible donations these wonders made towards @sameyouorg Covid Relief fund.

‘We have created an online clinic for brain injury recovery which is growing into something truly magic.’

Richard Madden ‘isolating with Teen Wolf’s Froy Gutierrez in LA home owned by Emilia Clarke’

Richard Madden is having a rather luxurious lockdown it seems, thanks to his Game Of Thrones co-star Emilia Clarke.

The Bodyguard star is reportedly isolating with Teen Wolf actor Froy Gutierrez in a Los Angeles pad owned by Emilia – that charges £20,000 a month in rent.

And you thought London rental prices were steep.

According to The Sun, Richard, 33, moved into the lush two-bedroom property a few weeks before lockdown, after filming Marvel’s The Eternals in London, and called it the ‘perfect place to isolate’.

A source said: ‘He really hit it off with Froy and he’s pleased to have company while stuck inside.

‘As he is already spending a fortune on the property, he wanted someone to enjoy it with.

‘He didn’t see himself living there long-term but now he’s had to settle in because it doesn’t look like he will be able to move any time soon.’

It’s unclear if Emilia, 33, is giving Richard – who played Robb Stark opposite her Daenerys in the HBO hit Game Of Thrones – mates’ rates for crashing in the pricey pad, but she usually rents it out for a cool £20,000 a month after moving back to London two years ago.

The actress bought the home, which is centred around a grand swimming pool, for £3.8 million in 2016.

Whether he’s got a discount or not, we’re pretty jealous of Richard and Froy’s set-up.

Madden was first pictured hanging out with actor Gutierrez, 22, in February, before lockdown hit.

The Bodyguard star previously lived with 13 Reasons Why star Brandon Flynn, but it is believed the friends had a falling out last November.

According to reports, Flynn, 26, asked Versace not to invite Madden to an event they were throwing at the end of last year.

An insider at the time told The Sun: ‘Richard and Brandon bonded over being up-and-coming actors in the industry and decided to share a place while both working in LA.

‘But they have fallen out in the past few months and have cut ties with each other.’

Richard – who has previously had relationships with actresses Jenna Coleman and Ellie Bamber – was due to begin filming on an Amazon Prime series called Citadel, opposite Priyanka Chopra, this summer.

However, due to lockdown and the coronavirus pandemic, it is unclear if this will now be delayed.

Metro.co.uk has contacted Madden’s rep for comment.

Game of Thrones season 8 was so bad it destroyed the show’s entire legacy

GOT finale piece - Game Of Thrones' final season was so bad, it destroyed the show's legacy (Picture: Rex)
One year on, Game of Thrones has been erased from cultural consciousness (Picture: HBO)

There have been many good shows ruined by a shoddy finale, but few (if any) compare to Game of Thrones.

The ire that surrounded Thrones’ final season and its perceived drop in quality has been compared, endlessly, to shows such as Dexter, Lost and The Sopranos, although none of them hold a candle to the particular brand of chaos and contempt that Thrones managed to conjure.

But now, exactly one year on from the HBO epic’s final ending, we must finally accept the truth. No show has ever pulled off a finale more disastrous than Game of Thrones, and no show has ever – ever – seen its cultural footprint erased quicker either.

It’s hard to even imagine that when 2019 began, appetite for the return of Jon Snow (Kit Harington), Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) and Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage) was at an all-time high. Sure, the seventh season had seen a slight drop in quality and bizarre story choices (why, exactly do seven men storm into the land of ice zombies again? Please?) but this was going to be a supercharged season of Game of Thrones. Six blockbuster episodes, in and out. No problem.

There are many reasons why this eighth and final season was a distinct, total failure and we’re sure many, many books will be written on the finer, succinct points for time immemorial. But, to put it bluntly, this is what happens when writers don’t write well in an effort to land this dragon as quickly and pain-free as possible.

Much of the blame for Thrones’ crash and burn has been put at the feet of creators and showrunners David Benioff and DB Weiss, and for once the internet has come to a sensible conclusion. Everything else about season eight – the performances, the design, the effects – were firing on all cylinders for their lap of glory. But the writing was DOA.

Characters marvelled for their intelligence – Tyrion, Varys – became remarkably stupid. The Big Bad of the series – the Night King – was dispatched with alarming ease in a world-ending battle where precisely one major character died. Cersei Lannister decided to take time out of her busy schedule to sip wine on a balcony and never return. Daernerys Targayren turned into Hitler.

Daenerys Jon Snow Game of Thrones season 8
Even looking up this picture hurt our heart (Picture: HBO)

Thrones had, by its last series, passed the material of its source novels and then some (the final two instalments of George RR Martin’s A Song Of Ice And Fire series are still yet to be published) and all the intricacy and nimble characterisation that brought the show into the international spotlight in its brilliant earlier seasons seemed to have evaporated by dragon fire on its home-run.

We could write 5,000 words on why this season was so bad – the rushed path to a clearly pre-determined ending, the suspension of the world’s realism in order to get people where they needed to be, the inability to write female characters without turning them into a tyrannical villain or a femme fatale – but we don’t want to upset you, or ourselves.

It now doesn’t matter why Game of Thrones’ final run of episodes was so bad, because the damage has been done. It has happened and it can’t be reversed. The legacy of Game of Thrones has been ruined, irrevocably, forever.

Look online, now, and you’ll find that the show’s cultural footprint has almost disappeared.

Bran Stark? On the Iron Throne? Sorry we have suddenly gone deaf (Picture: HBO)

It’s estimated that almost 20 million viewers tuned into The Iron Throne when it aired in the US on 19 May 2019. That’s just above 16% of that country’s entire population. It was the most popular show of the decade, if not the most popular TV show to exist in modern times, and we won’t see anything to rival it again any time soon.

But, just look around on the internet today, search for Game of Thrones. Whereas, at any other given time, you will find people still tweeting about The Big Bang Theory or Friends, commentary of Thrones has ground to a halt after its disastrous ending. It was such a sudden and complete grind to a halt, we think it’s given every single viewer emotional whiplash.

No one is talking about Game of Thrones, because no one wants to talk about Game of Thrones. At any time in the past 12 months have you fancied a re-watch of the show? To once again experience the shocking death of Ned Stark, the battle of Blackwater Bay and Cersei’s destruction of the Sept of Baelor in all their glory? Have you talked yourself out of it because you know if you do that, you’ll have to once again watch season eight?

And, really, who can blame you? You invested so much in that show. You watched every episode live, without fail, since it debuted (or when people started to rave about it to you – it’s like fantasy, but for normal people!) You followed all the cast on Instagram. You bought all the books. You tweeted so, so many memes of Daenerys shouting ‘Dracarys!’ Only for the show to re-pay you for your loyalty and your obsession by turning into a parody of itself. It wasn’t just sad, it was a bit insulting. This is what you wasted two years of your life waiting for?

Emilia Clarke as Daenerys Targaryen with Drogon on Game of Thrones
Sorry, but that Game of Thrones re-watch isn’t coming any time soon (Picture: HBO)

At the start of this article, we mentioned Dexter, Lost, and The Sopranos. Each of these shows, to varying degrees, had unsatisfying finales, people say. Whether it was the complex myth-making of Lost or The Sopranos’ refusal to give any ending, at all.

But Dexter and Lost were well past the peak of their cultural powers by the time they drew to a close and The Sopranos is, still, considered by many to be the finest achievement of any TV show, ever. Its ending wasn’t bad in the way that Thrones’ was, it only ended up enhancing the show’s mystique.

Game of Thrones was ruined by its own ending, and its a wound from which the show will never recover. Of course, there’s still hope for fans, either in the (eventual) publication of the final two books, or the debut of the promising, Targaryen-centric prequel.

Even if the franchise finds success in its future, every conversation will eventually wind back to ‘Game of Thrones? Yeah, great show, terrible ending.’

So, it’s finally time to admit it. Game of Thrones is dead, long live Game of Thrones. Or perhaps not.

Game of Thrones is available to stream via NOW TV.

Celebrities we'll have to wait a little longer to see on stage
Which celebrities will we have to wait a little longer to see in London’s West End?

Theatres have taken a real hit during the coronavirus pandemic, with West End venue’s forced to shut down due to lockdown, meaning many performances have now been postponed.

A whole host of stars had been lined up to hit the stage in London, but it looks like fans will have to wait a little longer until they can see their favourites in action.

Instead, the likes of Andrew Lloyd Weber have ensured theatre-goers are still getting their stage fix, as his musical theatre shows – including the likes of Cats and The Phantom of the Opera – have been streaming online during lockdown.

It’s reported that theatre closures could see the composer, 72, take a £20million hit, with many fans already pining for the day theatres are given the green light to lift their curtains once again.

And giving us all something to look forward to, some famous faces have already confirmed that they’ll be back and raring to go when doors open.

That includes Game Of Thrones star Emilia Clarke, who recently revealed that she’ll be continuing with The Playhouse’s production of The Seagull.

Back in December, it was confirmed that Emilia would be making her West End debut in Chekhov’s The Seagull.

She plays the role of Nina in the production, directed by Jamie Lloyd, which had kicked off on 11 March.

It was announced just days later, however, that performances had been suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic, as the West End had shut its doors until further notice.

Emilia has since shared an update on The Seagull, revealing future performances have now been postponed, but stressed she will be back to reprise her role as Nina when the show returns.

Harry Potter star Daniel had been starring in Samuel Beckett’s Endgame, alongside Alan Cumming, with the production first getting underway back in January.

It had been in its final two weeks when the coronavirus lockdown hit and the Old Vic decided to suspend performances, as a result. Ticket-goers were encouraged to forgo a refund, instead offering it as a donation while receiving access to a videoed full-length performance of the production filmed earlier in its run.

It looks unlikely that Endgame will return for its cancelled performances, as the Old Vic is set to host a new show, Local Hero, from 18 June.

In lockdown, however, The Crown stars Matt Smith and Claire Foy will be performing a socially distanced play, Lungs by Duncan MacMillan, on stage at the Old Vic with no audience in a bid to raise money for the theatre to prevent it from closure.

A statement shared on The Gielgud’s website reads: ‘As a result of ongoing advice from the government regarding the spread of Coronavirus and the inevitable knock-on effect on the production timetable for TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD, all performances of the play at the Gielgud Theatre have been regretfully postponed from 21st May and will be rescheduled.’

Game Of Thrones’ Emilia Clarke watching her tiny dog chase a ball is the pure joy we needed today

Emilia Clarke and Ted are our new favourite pair (Picture: Backgrid)

There’s a lot to be said for the power of a teeny-tiny dog to lift your spirits, and we defy anyone to look at these photos of Emilia Clarke’s dachshund without smiling.

The Game Of Thrones star, 33, looked like she was having a fantastic time as she took her pet sausage dog, Ted, out for a walk near her home in London

Emilia didn’t let the rain stop her and Ted getting some exercise and the pair headed to the park with an umbrella despite the drizzle.

While Ted walked obediently along with Emilia on his lead, when she let him off in the park he decided to join in with a game of football some kids were playing.

The sight of a dog so small chasing a ball bigger than its own body is quite literally the most wholesome thing we’ve seen all day.

Emilia couldn’t hide her surprise to see Ted take on the football, and gaped as he sniffed at the ball.

Emilia Clarke and her puppy were clearly ready to explore as they went on their daily walk this week.

The actress’ delectable dachshund, Ted, was a giddy little pupper as he took a stroll with his mum while she chatted on the phone during a stroll in London.

The Game Of Thrones star revealed in January that she had adopted the incredibly adorable sausage dog, and he certainly looks happier than ever to have found his forever home.

Emilia donned gym leggings, a cropped white hoodie and burgundy trainers while Ted was an absolute doggy delight in his tiny harness leash.

While in the park, the 33-year-old removed Ted’s lead so he could jump, zoom and bound across the grass.

Is there anything more adorable than seeing the joyful ball of fluff kicking around London’s green spaces? We think not.

The day before, the ultimate duo were out for some more fun in the, uh, rain.

It might have been gloomier, but that didn’t stop Ted from playing fetch with all his might.

Emilia Clarke’s dog Ted has been bringing joy to her and all of us in recent months, with the photogenic pup being snapped doing everything from jumping in a taxi to take care of his important business, to enjoying walks in London.

Thankfully, the Daenerys Targaryen actress has been blessing us with abundant photos of the dachshund puppy, who’s also known as Super Ted and Teddington Clarke, if he’s feeling fancy.

So, if you’re in need of your fix of cute dog pics, look no further.

Emilia first got Ted back in January 2020, introducing him to the internet on Instagram.

Sharing snaps of the pup licking her face and staring down one of his toys, she raved: ‘He just can’t stop. He physically.cannot.stop being the MOST BEAUTIFUL PUPPY IN THE ENTIRE WORLD. 😎

‘Erryone meet Ted. Super Ted. My new main squeeze. Light of my goddamn life. Ready to fill this instagram feed to bursting whilst still being able to leave room in a teacup #goodbyesleepgoodbyecarpetsgoodbyeslippershellopoop #coshesworthit.’

And, of course, Ted joined Emilia on her pre-lockdown adventures, even accompanying her to a Chanel fitting, because he’s the most stylish pooch around.

Posting a photo of the pair of them in the back of a taxi, the 33-year-old wrote: ‘Let the true love continue… taxi style. #readyforanythingevenChanelfitting #myentirefeedwillnowfeatureandmentionteddingtonclarke #sorrynotsorry.’

We’re certainly not unhappy about it.

Next up, Emilia had to conduct the all-important experiment of whether or not Ted would fit into a hat. Turns out he fits perfectly, and our lives have improved significantly for knowing that.

‘He didn’t accompany me to the @chanelofficial Charles Finch dinner but….he would’ve fit right in,’ she pointed out. ‘To my hat. (And my champagne glass).’

As if that wasn’t enough, turns out we’ve got an eco-friendly pup on our hands here.

However, that definitely doesn’t mean Ted doesn’t know how to chill, with Emilia posting a string of photos of him cuddling up with her last month.

‘The 3 stages of Ted’s love language,’ she told us. ‘Licking is introduced at a distance. Zero understanding of human kiss. Screw it gimme your face. #sleepeatrepeat.’

We’re obsessed.

And Emilia’s made it clear she’s a big dog lover, previously posting snaps of her pup Roxy.

‘This is what perfection looks like, in case you were wondering,’ she said of the dog, and we have to agree.

Luckily, we haven’t been deprived of Ted pictures in lockdown, with the actress taking him out for London walks and watching him chase a ball that was far too big for him.

Can’t fault that ambition. Reach for the stars, Ted!

Game of Thrones writer hints at massive House of the Dragon plot point: What is the Dance of the Dragons?

Game of Thrones’ first official spin-off House of the Dragon promises to take us deep into the history of the Targaryen dynasty.

Set centuries before the events set forth in HBO’s original high-fantasy epic and based on material written by George RR Martin in the quasi-historical tome Fire and Blood, House of the Dragon will take us back in time to meet Daenerys’ (Emilia Clarke) ancestors, who first conquered Westeros and installed the Iron Throne into the Seven Kingdoms.

Now, eagle-eyed fans (via Reddit) have discovered that Bryan Cogman, a former Thrones writer, has hinted at a pretty big plot point that may be included in the new serial.

What did Bryan Cogman reveal on Twitter?

Game of Thrones spin-off House of The Dragon: What we know so far
House of the Dragon takes place hundreds of years before the narrative of Game of Thrones (Picture: HBO)

Bryan Cogman is one of the most experienced former writers of Game of Thrones, he wrote a total of 11 episodes for the series, including fan-favourite A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, where Brienne of Tarth (Gwndolynne Chrsitie) is knighted by Jaime Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) before the Battle of Winterfell.

Cogman was also one of the creatives chosen by HBO to pitch a Thrones spin-off as the main series was nearing its conclusion, but his idea was ultimately turned down in favour of Jane Goodman’s Bloodmoon, starring Naomi Watts.

Now, of course, we know that Bloodmoon (set in the Age of Legends) shot a pilot episode, but was canned and not ordered to series. Instead, HBO and Martin are teaming up for House of the Dragon, which got a straight to series order this year.

It was heavily rumoured that Cogman’s own proposed series would explore the history of the Targaryen’s and the writer confirmed as much on Twitter, telling a fan that his own show would have adapted the Dance of Dragons featured in the books:

‘Yes, as was reported that was the storyline. HBO decided to go with Jane’s pilot and I moved on to Amazon.’

He continued: ‘But I’m thrilled they’re re-doing it now.’

What is the Dance of the Dragons?

House of the Dragon will explore the civil war of Dany’s ancestors (Picture: HBO)

The Dance of the Dragons was the civil war between House Targaryen that erupted after the death of King Viserys I.

Viserys was the fifth Targaryen king to sit on the throne, and his death set up his children against each other; his son, Aegon II and his daughter, Rhaenyra.

The war lasted for around three years and would result in the death of both rival claimants to the Iron Throne.

In the end, factions would be healed as Rhaenyra’s son, Aegon III married his cousin Jaehaera (remember, the Targaryens did love a bit of incest), uniting the royal house once more.

The Dance of the Dragons happens almost 200 years before the main narrative of Game of Thrones, but its fractious civil war does set the foundation for the un-happy rule of the last Targaryen king of Westeros (and Dany’s father), Aerys II, the Mad King.

So, basically, if what Cogman is saying is true, House of the Dragon will be deep-dive into Targaryen family politics that will either (we assume) kickstart its narrative or conclude its narrative with the big grand-daddy of Westerosi civil wars, which also functions as a neat tie-in to the Song of Ice and Fire we all know and love.

House of the Dragon comes to HBO at an as-yet-unconfirmed date. Game of Thrones is available to stream via NOW TV.

Emilia Clarke gave us all the summer feels while heading out on her latest dog walk with her adorable puppy Ted.

The Game of Thrones star, 33, who has been our go-to for cute doggo content since welcoming her pet pooch earlier this year, looked just lovely as she headed out in London to catch up with a pal.

Emilia was seen making the most of the sunshine, as she dug out her summer wardrobe and donned a strappy floral-printed dress and ballet pumps.

Covering up in a nude cardigan, the actress wore chic shades and her dark hair tied back into a loose ponytail, as she grabbed some fresh air on Monday.

She was joined by a male friend and the pair looked deep in conversation, as they sat down in the park to take a breather, while puppy Ted went exploring.

He couldn’t have looked cuter while all wrapped up in a knitted dog jacket and has been stealing all the attention away from his dog mum Emilia with his sweet appearances all throughout lockdown.

Emilia first introduced Ted to fans back in January via Instagram and since then he has become a regular (and very welcome) feature on her social media.

Slightly biased – but also spot on – Emilia said: ‘He just can’t stop. He physically.cannot.stop being the MOST BEAUTIFUL PUPPY IN THE ENTIRE WORLD.’

‘Erryone meet Ted. Super Ted. My new main squeeze. Light of my goddamn life,’ she penned as she first introduced her pet pup to the world.

‘Ready to fill this instagram feed to bursting whilst still being able to leave room in a teacup #goodbyesleepgoodbyecarpetsgoodbyeslippershellopoop #coshesworthit.’

Since then he’s been posing for cute snaps that will make your heart burst on Emilia’s account, accompanying her to Chanel fittings (because why not) and even helping her with the recylicing.

We’re not kidding.

In a series of possibly the cutest pictures ever, Emilia captured Ted having a good rifle through her paper bin, before scooping him up so he could plant a big sloppy kiss on her nose.

‘Helping with the recycling, then helping himself to my entire heart,’ she told fans, before joking: ‘And shoe collection. And laundry. And face. And still I can’t tell him off… #couldyou?! #stillamoremanagablelovelife #canthelplovingthatmanofmine #❤️ #🕺 #🙌 #😂.’

As well as spending all her free time with her main man Ted, Emilia has also been busy making her West End debut in The Seagull.

The production was showing at The Playhouse in London and was originally scheduled to run until the end of May.

However, the show was suspended back in March due to the coronavirus pandemic, with all performances now looking to be rescheduled as a result of lockdown shutting down theatres.

And when the show does finally return (dates are yet to be confirmed), Emila has confirmed that she will be back to reprise her role as Nina in the production directed by Jamie Lloyd.

Viewers were left cracking up after a high-value item on Celebrity Gogglebox stunned the families so much that Emilia Fox’s very posh mum ended up turning the air blue with a swear word.

While watching a clip from the Antiques Roadshow, the stars saw a woman be told the item of jewellery she had brought in was not in fact worthless like she had been told.

Calling it the ‘blue blob’, the item in question turned out to be a massive sapphire surrounded by diamonds – and worth a whopping £50,000.

Understandably all of the Gogglebox families were gobsmacked that the jewel – which other jewellers had previously deemed worthless – was in fact a really precious item.

Mimicking what the woman would have said if she hadn’t been on national television, Emilia Clarke’s mum had everyone cracking up as she burst out swearing.

Emilia’s mum exclaimed: ‘F**k me! I’m saying what she’d like to say, f**k me!’

Warning: below video contains swearing

Fans took to Twitter to share how funny they had found the moment, tweeting: ‘@EmiliaFox mum on Gogglebox cracks me up’ and ‘mum is absolutely brilliant on #gogglebox She needs her own show!’

Others added: ‘Lovely to see you on Gogglebox and your Mum is officially fabulous’ and ‘Emilia Fox mum on #Gogglebox is f**king brilliant’.

Well, that’s not what we were expecting to hear while watching Antiques Roadshow, but we know who we’d like to watch it with from now on.

Emilia Clarke is said to be dating assistant director Tom Turner, after the pair ‘hit it off’ while ‘bonding’ over dogs.

The Game Of Thrones actress, 33, was spotted walking her adorable pup Ted with Tom on a recent park outing in London and rumours have since been doing the rounds that romance could be on the cards for the pair.

An insider told The Sun on Sunday that Tom, who is no stranger to working on big Hollywood sets, is ‘pretty smitten’ with Emilia already.

‘Emilia and Tom have really hit it off… [he] sees a long-term future between them,’ the source claimed.

‘He’s used to hanging out with A-listers because of his job working on high-profile films.’

Tom has previously worked on movies such as Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and Charlie’s Angels.

According to reports, he previously dated The Greatest Showman star Rebecca Ferguson, after meeting her while working on 2015 film Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation.

On Instagram, Tom – who seems to be a keen traveller – has a handful of celebrity followers, including Emily Atack and Peaky Blinders star Annabelle Wallis.

Metro.co.uk has reached out to Emilia’s reps.

Emilia, meanwhile, previously dated director Charlie McDowall for about a year. He is now dating actress Lily Collins.

The star, who is best known for playing Daenerys Targaryen, previously opened up about dating and said she was single back in March.

Speaking to The Sunday Times, she said: ‘I am single right now… dating in this industry is interesting. I have a lot of funny anecdotes, a lot of stuff I can say at a fun dinner.

‘I was [dating actors], but I’m not now. I mean, I wouldn’t say I’ve completely sworn off them, but I do think actor relationships that are successful are few and far between – and you have to have a ton of trust.’

One little guy Emilia is more than besotted with, however, is her dog Ted.

The star got Ted back in January and since then has been giving everyone the dog content they crave on Instagram.

First introducing him, she wrote: ‘He just can’t stop. He physically.cannot.stop being the MOST BEAUTIFUL PUPPY IN THE ENTIRE WORLD.’

‘Erryone meet Ted. Super Ted. My new main squeeze. Light of my goddamn life.’
